STATE DEPARTMENT ENCOURAGES YOUTH EMPOWERMENT THROUGH STATE-UNICEF PARTNERSHIP AT MACHAKOS COUNTY SOCIAL HALL

Today, on October 24th, Emily Maina, Director of Youth Social Development at the State Department for Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, spoke at the Machakos County Government Social Hall. She motivated young people to take advantage of the recent partnership between the State Department for Youth Affairs and UNICEF to enhance their economic empowerment.

Ms. Maina elucidated that the partnership, launched under the Be Green program, aims to address climate change issues and economically empower the youth. She emphasized, “Social Economic Development requires empowered youths; that’s why we are here to empower young people in Machakos through the YOMA and Be Green programs, offering prizes and opportunities for training in various courses.”
