On Tuesday, October 31st of this year, Mr. Raymond Ochieng, HSC, the Secretary of Youth Development, represented PS Ismail Madey Maalim at the UN Joint Program on Youth Skilling, Employability, and Civic Engagement validation workshop. This program serves as a collaborative platform, bringing together government MDAs, UN agencies, and other non-state actors to advance the youth agenda.
During the workshop, participants expressed their commitment to enhancing the joint program, ensuring its strength before adoption and rollout. The unanimous agreement emphasized the critical role of youth skills development as a cornerstone for employment creation, aligning with the objectives of Vision 2030. There was a collective determination to explore diverse economic fronts for the successful engagement of youth.
Mr. Raymond, in his address, urged all partners to collaborate closely with the government to achieve the desired outcomes outlined in the Youth Development Index. He took the opportunity to extend an invitation to agencies that have not yet joined the Youth Connekt Africa Summit, encouraging them to leverage the platform for a more extensive impact on youth development.”
