EXPLORING OPPORTUNITIES: DISCUSSIONS ON ASSESSING KENYA’S FILM AND TELEVISION SECTOR

This morning, Mr. Ismail Maalim, the Principal Secretary of the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, had the honour of hosting Mr. Jonathan Olsberg, the Executive Chair of Olsberg SPI who had called on him.
He was accompanied by Osas Esosa, Researcher Olsberg SPI, Timothy Owase, CEO of the Kenya Film Commission, Mr. Ezekiel Onyango, Chair of the Kenya Film and Television Professional Association and Harriet Tergat, Policy and Programming, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports.
They had comprehensive discussions on conducting a study for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and assessing the Film and Television sector in Kenya.
The Olsberg SPI team has had the opportunity to meet with Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba and other Key government officials. They also engaged with various stakeholders in the film industry, including producers, as they participated in the Kalasha Awards.
