CELEBRATING A YEAR OF SUCCESS: LAUNCHING TALANTA HELA DIGITAL HUB AND MILESTONE ACHIEVEMENTS

Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, EGH has on Saturday, 28th, of this year, officially led the Ministry in the celebrations of its One-year Milestones/ Achievements at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani by launching the Talanta Hela Digital Hub at the Kenya Academy of Sports among other activities.

CS Hon Ababu-Terrah Egh flanked by Youth Affairs PS Ismail Maalim were joined by several dignitaries including the Ambassador of France to Kenya H.E. Arnaud Suquet and representatives of the diplomatic corps,- China, Tunisia, Egypt, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, and Portugal among other dignitaries.
The #TalantaHela online adds yet another dimension to the ministry’s talent nurturing, and identification, with scouting now expanding to every corner of the nation, supported by the digital platform.
The CS said that Talanta Hela is the Ministry Flagship for the ‘deliberate, intentional and structured monetization of talents. it is the platform for turning Talents into Pesa Mfukoni to support sustainable live hoods”

The CS called on Kenyans, more so, the creatives, Youth, Musicians, innovators others with talents to download the Talanta Hela App from Playstore and share their Talents for onward progression to the Kenya Academy of Sports. The CS said that Talanta Hela is a “Practical Manifestation of Bottom-up, and has created that critical mission pipeline to tap talents from the grassroots, including the schools’ ecosystem, and tunnel those talents to the very top where they can where they can be monetized to benefit the individual: the family, the community and the Nation”.

The team then took part in a tree planting exercise at the Kenya Academy of Sports which is part of the ministry’s #SportsForClimateAction agenda, which aims to use sports as a platform for environmental conservation in its climate adaptation program.

The tree planting exercise also syncs well with the ministry’s youth for climate action agenda, which seeks to deploy the youth for climate change mitigation cause dubbed One Million Youth Green Army.
He later proceeded to World Safari Rally open spaces where together with his entourage and State Department for Youth Affairs, PS Ismail Maalim Madey they planted trees.

The Team later proceeded to the indoor Arena, at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, amidst songs, dances, and a celebratory, “Sherehe” atmosphere where the CS outlined ‘the inspiring success story which is a manifestation of the Ministry’s new Mantra of “All Hands of Deck: One for All, All for one” The CS outlined the Milestones in Thirteen areas achieved under his leadership, which he commenced exactly one year ago today, October, 28th, last year.

They are in the areas of the FIFA Ban lifted, the Football Economy Back, the Athletics Renaissance, and the anti-doping war, the Sports and Creatives Infrastructure Master plan, and the Revised Rewards Scheme.
Others include Consolidated Creative Economy, Revolutionary Talanta Flagship, the Young People Agenda, Talanta Plaza; Home of Sports and Creatives, Partnerships and Cooperation, Inter-county Football Tournaments, Events and Return of TV Broadcasts and lastly Afcom27 comes home.
