The Mr. & Ms Samba Youth Empowerment Pageant 2025. Kwale County

The Mr. and Ms. Samba Youth Empowerment Pageant 2025, took place last weekend on 20th Dec 2025 at Aveon Schools in Ukunda, Kwale County. The event which was organized by the Samba Sports Youth Trust in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs Creative Economy and Sports was graced by the Principal Secretary for youth Affairs and Creative Economy, Fikirini Jacobs The youth empowerment debut which has become an annual event is anchored on the broader concept of celebrating culture, creativity and innovation among the youth in Kwale county; a lesser version of WHO’Z NEXT talent search programme by the Ministry of Youth Affairs. The county initiative is aimed at empowering changemaker youth in resolving community challenges and creating positive change.
Nusra Hassan Nasser – From Waa Location was crowned the Ms. Samba 2025, her chosen area of impact was Peacebuilding.
Mr. Samba 2025 is now Elamy Ali Hamisi – From Vanga, whose area of community impact is Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights, (Prevention of Teenage pregnancies)
The contestants were evaluated on cultural display, creativity and innovativeness as well as their youth leadership abilities in championing community problem solving ideas for positive impact.
PS Fikirini hailed the initiative as a commendable move in salvaging vulnerable youth from anti-social behaviors by empowering them to become productive members of society. He affirmed the government’s commitment in supporting such efforts noting that the creative economy provides opportunities for the youth to develop their talents and eke-out a living. The event was also supported by an array of partners with interest in youth development and empowerment, and the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy.
