The Principal Secretary for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, Fikirini Jacobs joined the President H.E Dr William Samoei Ruto today at the Buntwani Waterfront Park, Malindi for the NYOTA business grant disbursement of Ksh. 126 million to some 5,040 youth from Kilifi, Lamu and Tana River counties.
In his remarks, PS Fikirini described NYOTA programme as one of a kind, noting that it is very open and fair, and that young people do not need connections or influence to benefit. He emphasized that beneficiaries were selected through a transparent process based on eligibility, and underwent training and mentorship offered under the programme.
The PS also confirmed that NYOTA has already been rolled out in 41 counties, demonstrating the Government’s commitment to reaching young people across the country.
