Mr. Joe Mucheru, EGH, MBS -Cabinet Secretary Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs
Mr. Joe Mucheru was appointed Cabinet Secretary by His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2015. He was formerly the Google “Sub-Saharan Africa ambassador” as well as Google Country Manager Kenya, based in Nairobi. He joined Google in June 2007 where he led the delivery of strategy, business planning, and operations. Before joining Google, he worked at Wananchi Online, a company he co-founded in 1999. He held various roles at the company including Strategy & Business Director and CEO. He studied at London’s City University and also attended Stanford University’s Executive Program in 2008.
Ms. Nadia Ahmed Abdalla- Chief Administrative Secretary
Nadia Ahmed Abdalla is a Public Relations and Communication Specialist. She holds a Bachelor’s in Public Relations and Mass Communication and a Masters in International Relations and Cultural Diplomacy.
Nadia is the author of a book called ‘ The Feminist In Us’. She is a Mental Health Advocate focused on using different campaign strategies to educate and demystify the stereotypes around mental health amongst the youth, and an inspirational speaker to young Females & Youth to empower & equip them with mechanisms & ways to create and innovate.
She also trains young females and the youth to ignite goal development skills and self-sustaining mechanisms for the future.
Mr. Charles T. Sunkuli, CBS Principal Secretary State Department for Youth Affairs
Mr. Charles T. Sunkuli, is the current Principal Secretary, State Department for Youth Affairs, Ministry of ICT Innovation and Youth Affairs. He has previously served as the Principal Secretary State Department for Devolution, Ministry of Devolution and ASAL (February 2018 to February 2021) and also as the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, a position he held from December 2015 to February 2018.
Before he was appointed the Principal Secretary, Mr. Sunkuli worked with Ewuaso Ng’iro South River Development Authority (ENSDA) where he rose through the ranks to become the Managing Director from 2010-2016.
He has a wealth of experience in Public Service spanning over 20 years. Mr. Sunkuli is an experienced management strategist with a solid background in Administration, Planning, Management, and Leadership.
He holds two Executive Master’s degrees in Business Administration (EMBA) from Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI) and Maastricht School of Management (MSM) the Netherlands, a Bachelor of Education Degree (B.Ed. Arts) from Moi University. He has also undertaken various specialized training including Procurement Standards and Socio-Economic Development, Governance, and Godly leadership in the United States of America (USA) among many others.
Mr. Sunkuli has held other positions nationally and globally including being the Designated National Focal Point of the Green Environmental Facility (GEF) of the United Nations Environment Program, Board Member of the Strategic Approach to International Chemical Management (SAICM), National Focal Point of the Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC) and Life Member of the International Red Cross Society among other community-based leadership positions.
He strives for results-based performance as evidenced in the recent ban of plastic bags in Kenya, implementation of a robust solid waste management programme that led to the closure of Ngong and Kibarani dumpsites in Kajiado and Mombasa respectively.
Mr. Sunkuli negotiated funding for the Ngong Integrated Waste Management treatment plant to the tune of Kshs.2.1 Billion from the Italian Co-operation and oversaw the enactment of the Climate Change Act, 2016, which put Kenya on the first lane in combating Climate Change.
He pioneered a robust weather information access program by the Kenya Meteorological Department, information which is now available online. As the National Focal Point of GEF, he successfully negotiated for funding of Key National Programmes through the Global Environment Facility (GEF)
Mr. Bernard Mugambi – ndc (k) Secretary Administration
Mr. Mugambi holds BA(Hon’s), MA(International studies) from University of University of Nairobi. He has served the public service in field and National government at various levels and rising to Deputy Provincial Commisioner, Director and now Secretary Administration.
Mr. Raymond O. Ouma Secretary Youth Affairs
Mr. Raymond O. Ouma was born on 23rd September 1983; He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Development Studies. He holds a Master of Arts in Sociology and Community Development. Raymond Ochieng is an experienced Public Sector Strategy and Management Consultant and currently the Inaugural Secretary Youth Affairs at the Ministry of ICT, Innovation, and Youth Affairs. He was the Inaugural CEO National Youth Council under the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs. He has a specialty in Transformation Strategies and Results-Based Management and Government Transformation strategies. He has practiced at both the Public and Private Sector, this includes institutions like; Kenya School of Government (KSG), County Governments, National Government and Private Institutions, Kenya School of Revenue Administration(KESRA) Kenya Institute of Management(KIM), and Mount Kenya University(MKU). For the last ten years, he has been domiciled within the pubic management sector at the highest echelons developing Transformation Strategies for both the National Police Service Commission and the Office of the Prime Minister.
